the girls

These girls crack me up! They went with Shelley after we walked and she took them to the park. Look what they found. The only water there and they were soaked. Their clothes were drenched so they bucked down and had a hayday! I missed getting Kendra and Kynzlie but they were part of it too. Mylee had grass on every spot of her body! They are all so spunky and have the cutest personalities! I love just listening to them play together. Some good fights but they are such good little friends.

24th of July

Ok....so my grandma never lets you take her picture. I wasn't going to take my camera off of her until I got one. Well this is what she gave me. We were both laughing at the end. She is so stubburn! I know where I get it!
Mylee's favorite uncle Jimmy.
Grandpa always has a baby on his lap! He loves the kids!

Mylee and Karlie showing me their candy.

I love the parade. It's so fun just to be together as a family! My husband on the other hand hates it! He tries every year to get out of it. I'm just so glad we have kids now so the fight isn't as bad. This is another thing I have done since I was little and just love the atmosphere. I don't think I watch any of it cause we are just talking but it's still fun. After the parade we always go over to the park and have lunch. My grandparents usually come and my uncle Jimmy. Mylee is always asking where Jimmy is. I love seeing her have relationships with him and my grandparents.

Flag burning ceremony

I Love this time of the year! We went down and rode horses and then headed over to the flag burning ceremony. I think it is so cool. We hung out with my dad this year. He is so dang busy this time of the year. He is the city manager so he is always running around making sure everything goes good. We have always done all the fun things though throughout the week because of it. I love this picture of him with Derek. He is always helping and holding kids. He is such a good grandpa. I never really thought of how much I would enjoy watching my parents be grandparents but I love it. They are SO good to our kids! They love them and want to be around them whenever possible. I love that my kids have such a good relationship with them but I know it's because of the time they put into me and my little family! I hope that that's how I'll be when I am a grandma!

Horse riding

My dad works with the best people! Seth is in my ward and also works with my dad. I told him that My was dying to ride horses. He told me next time he rode Steves he would call and we could bring Mylee. I didn't think anything of it and a couple days went by and we got a phone call asking if she wanted to go riding. I had just bought her some cowboy boots for the rodeo and a hat so she was so excited to wear them. I really thought we would get down there and she would be scared and not want on them. Well, she proved me wrong! She loved it! She hopped right on and didn't want to get off. She is carring her little horse that she now carries everywhere! Even me and Layne got on one too. I love horses but Layne, not so much. He got bit in the butt by one when he was little so he's not too fond of them. Seth called him a Kmart cowboy. I was laughing cause he totally was! Mylee still talks about it and remembers riding and wants to go again! Thanks Seth and Steve for letting use the horses and getting them all ready for us. She loved it and so did I. I always wanted to be a cowgirl when I was little so I was way excited!

Cousins

I was laughing my head off when I came to pick up Mylee from her cousins. We were getting them together quite frequent in the fall and this is what I found when I picked her up from her play date. Nothing better then running around naked!

lake powell 6.09

Lake powell was so much fun this year! We left little beefcake home which was really hard but I know he had alot more fun with grandma and grandpa Oyler! They spoil him with so much love! This is Mylee surfing with her dad. She doesn't ever know what to think of it but she is always wanting to go surfing with him. She loves her dad and does whatever he does!

Dad pulling them up on the surf board.

Uncle Joel asked her if she wanted to go down the slide and she said yes. I about died. She didn't know what she was getting herself into! She hated it! The kids don't have much say in this family though. If the dads want them to do it, they do! I guess it makes them get tough. We were laughing so hard at her after! She hated it but it was a good threat the rest of the trip:)

This is the only picture you will see of me in the water! Layne was trying to help me get up on the surfboard. He was on the back of the boat holding it in the water for me, cause I'm a major whimp! He fell off and decided to come swiming with me. I actually got up on it though! I was sore for 2days after. It is a major workout!

The boat always puts the little girls to sleep! Such a nice break for me:) They are always running and get so dang tired.

My hottie out wakeboarding. They are getting old but it won't keep them off of it. They are always so sore after this trip.

Me and my niece Amanda went for alittle hike one night. She is ten now! Crazy cause I went to her 1yr old birthday party with Layne when we were dating. We are getting so old. I can't believe these little girls are growing up!

Shel and Joel took them all on a hike. That sand really kicks your butt! I didn't make it too far on mine. I love it down here!

Some of the crew hanging out.

We hung out on the beach a ton! My loved playing in the sand and waves. Her and her dad just relaxing.

Mylee and her cousin Karlie. These two probably fight the most but they are so protective of each other! They love each other so much!

Not a good lake powell trip if there wasn't all the good food!

Kaitlyn, Amanda, Malorie, and Morgan

Mylee

My big hottie! I love this man! I'm so glad he is the dad and husband that he is! He is such a hard worker to provide for us. He works hard so that we can go on these fun trips and I appreciate him so much! I love this man. We had such a fun trip! Everyone kinda relaxes more and it's so nice to get to know everyone better. We have so much fun as a family!

random thoughts

So I have just had thoughts in my head all night tonight. Layne is coming home from a golf trip and I've been trying to break Mylee of some bad habits we got her in which equals no sleep for me! I've been up with her and Derek for the past 3 nights so if this doesn't make sense, at least I have it out of my head! I have been feeling so overwhelmed lately! I wouldn't change my life for a second, everything just catches right up to you and I'm at that point now. I LOVE my calling in church. I am an activity days leader with the 10 and 11yr olds and I love them! I love my partner that I do it with too so when I got a phone call for an interview with the bishop I was completely torn. I wasn't ready to give that calling up! Layne just got called last week as a ward missionary and I was laughing so hard cause we aren't as social as we should be. I go to my interview and the bishop asks what I would think of being an actor on the trek, we just got called to be the ma and pa in August. I'm way excited about that, but someone might have to drag me off the mountain during the 6 mile hike. I just walked a mile tonight and about croaked! Anyway, he said I would have to act and sing. I just started laughing and said nobody wants me to sing or act. Don't know how to do both. He said he was kidding and asked about me being a ward missionary with my husband and keeping the calling that I have as a activity day leader. I'm super excited about it! I just have been feeling so overwhelmed with everything else and know somethings gotta give now. I am going to slow WAY down with photography now. Kinda torn about that too but I've been thinking I needed too anyways. (so if anyone wants pictures, I'm now full until Sept). So we get to go to people that are active members and challenge them to be more outgoing to the people in our neighborhoods that aren't members or inactive. I'm so excited to get to know more people. We pretty much get to go and get to be friends with people for our calling. I'm really impressed too with our bishop and what he wants out of it. He doesn't want us pushing our religion on anyone. He just wants them to feel part of our community and that they can come and participate at things without feeling like they are trying to be converted. I totally agree with that. I believe strongly that everyone is at different stages in life, spiritual too. I believe that some want and need religion and others are ok without it in their lives right now and it's ok. I know that I need it so bad right now. I have such a strong testimony of this gospel because of experiences that have happened to me throughout my life. I could never deny or forget them either. It helps me to try each day to become a stronger and better person. I have many weaknesses and it helps me try harder. I know it's not for everyone and I'm totally fine with that. Some of the people that I look up too tons are in that spot in their life and I don't think any less of them. They are such strong examples to me of so many things. Therefore I'm so excited that we are in this calling together! I can't wait to make myself get out of my comfort zone and meet more people and have their life's influence ours for the better! I know this is such a random post. I usually don't put thoughts like this on here. I keep it for my journal but I've felt like I should so here it is. Take it for what it's worth. It feels good to get some of my thoughts out of my head! Can't wait for the new things ahead but if I'm not quite with it you know why now.

our kids

so i've been writting some things down that we have been cracking up about with our kids. I'll start with Mylee:
~You need to take a nap Mylee. "I can't mom." She is always telling me she can't
~She'll run out of her room right after I put her down for a nap saying "I awake mom"
~Whenever she is doing anything, she'll say to me "I ok mom"
~Now I purposly drive over a dip fast or tap my breaks alittle fast so that I can here a little voice in the back seat say "be careful mom" or "hold on"
~She has to announce to the world whenever me, dad or her farts or burps! It's always "I burp mom"
~The other sunday in sacrament someone smelt stinky. I whispered to Mylee, "did you poop?" In her not so quiet voice she announces to the world "I just farted mom." I about died!
~I asked her to clean up Dereks toys that she loves to spill. I told her I would count and see how fast she can go. (That usually works) She looked at me and said "no mom it's your turn."
~She will tell us please and thank you for EVERYTHING!
~I was sitting in my chair in my room feeding Derek. Mylee kept shutting the door and I asked her not too. She looked at me and said "your mean mom." I started laughing and said "what?" She looked at me again with a dirty look and said "your mean mom." I about died! When did she get big enough to know that?
~The other day we were driving to go to dinner and she said "I'm gonna kick your butt dad." We looked at each other and started laughing. Layne said it back to her and she said "I'm gonna kick your butt hard!" She is getting too smart! We need to watch what we say!
~Layne was home with them and I was gone doing errands. She told her dad that she had a turd in her pocket and he just kept working. About ten minutes later he smelt something stinky. He thought it was the dog. Mylee came walking over to him and said "dad your mean" He started laughing and asked why and she said "I got a turd in my pocket" She was mad at him for making her stay in it. Yes I should work on potty training her but I'm too lazy! We get a kick out of this little girl right now. We probably should start teaching her better manners but it is kinda funny.

My sweetest little boy Derek! I can't believe he is almost 5months! Time flies too fast it makes me want to cry! Some things he is loving right now:
~He loves you to move his legs like he is walking. It must get his gas moving cause he almost always lets out big ones when I do this!
~Anytime, and I mean anytime you look at him he gives you the biggest grin! He lights up!
~He loves when you hold him above your head! He brings his knees into his stomach and starts giggling!
~He loves his thumb! Any chance he gets it is in his mouth. We pull it out and put his binkie in and he will plop it out and stick his thumb in!
~He is needing so much more attention now. Loves to watch his sister.
~He will smile and laugh almost everytime Mylee gets right in his face.
~He loves to be played with rough. He gets laughing so hard.
~His legs are gigantic!! He has so many rolls and cottage cheese all over them! He has no knees or ankles cause of his fat rolls!
I love this boy so much! I don't know what I would do without him! He is the happiest boy ever! He is so dang good too. He has brought so much to our little family. I am so greatful for the two little blessing that we have in our lives. I really don't know what I would do without them. I love them both so much!

summer days

I love our spring days! Mylee loves her little pools. I can get her to do anything if she thinks we are going to go swimming after! I got her swiming suit at old navy last year for $2. and love it. Our thing is sitting out back eating popsicles and playing in the pool. I put Derek in his bouncer and he loves watching his sister! He can't get enough of her right now. I love watching those two together. I need to take some picts of him in his bouncer! I bought a bunch of gogurts and My thinks they are popsicles. It's so nice cause I don't care how many she eats of those. She is always sitting with her legs crossed now. I don't know why but it is one thing I love! I laugh everytime she does it. She is always doing it too. I love my kids!
