New years eve!!!!

These are just some of the pictures of us waiting for Derek to arrive. Layne sitting here at 7:30pm and then at 12:15am. Right before he came. My parents were so excited that they came and waited in the waiting room at the very end until I called and told them to come in. It was so fun. The drs and nurses made it a very fun night.

Christmas 08

Gary is my mom and dad's neighbor. We get a kick out of him. He is so full of it. He comes over every year to get his gift. This year we couldn't find it right away and it was driving him crazy. We were all cracking up watching him help search!

My parents give the grandkids pj's every year! They love them. They all take off running into the playroom to change into them. Some years they make them and other years they buy them.

Mylee with her stash of santa gifts. She loved opening them this year! It was so much fun. I love Christmas with kids! Her favorite toy is her doll house. I'm glad she got it. It's the best baby sitter! This year we went to my parents for Christmas Eve. We had lots of good food and company. Christmas day we went over to my sisters and had breakfast. It was so good. Her husband cooked it and we all pigged out. Then off to my parents house at 2 for lunch. We hung out there and then headed to Layne's parents at 5. We had more good food and opened gifts there. I didn't get any pictures up there cause it was kinda crazy. We had such a fun holiday this year! Mylee loved it. Layne gave me a diamond necklace and I about crapped my pants! He usually doesn't do things like that so I loved it! He is such a good husband and dad! We had a way fun Christmas this year with Mylee.

More of my boy and girl!

So I had to get back downstairs and finish up his pictures. I was getting so mad cause he is getting bigger and changing so fast. Here are some of the ones I got. I am so in love with this little boy and my sweet girl. They bring so much into my life. I have enjoyed having a newborn around the house again. They are so sweet. Mylee wanted her picture in this hat. I have a wall of hats in my studio and she loved this one that day. She kept poising for me. It is so much harder doing your newborn pictures with a two year old wanting to help and hold him! They turned out fun though. Enjoy!!!

Welcome baby Derek

So I know this is out of order but our christmas in on our other camera along with all the hospital pictures of Derek. I will post that later. I was just sending out some pictures to family of our baby that I took earlier today. I LOVED taking these. It is the main reason I did a studio and I am so happy I did. Enjoy! I'll post more later when I get more edited.

Derek came to us on Jan 1st at 12:30am. He was the first baby born in Utah county which made it kinda fun. We had a interview with the daily herald and got a fun little story put in. It was such a fun day. I have the easiest labors so I can truely say it was fun. I treasure the oppertunity to have that experience. I could feel the pressence of Layne's grandpa so strong during labor. He passed away in Feb last year and we got pregnant in April. We think he hand picked him for us. He is the second boy that carries the Harris name. There are other boys that are in the family but don't carry the name so we feel special for a boy. I could feel his pressence so strong though and I will cherish that memory of it. We named him Derek Houston after Layne and his grandpa that passed away. He is such a great little boy. We are so blessed to have his little spirit enter our home. Mylee is loving him everyday alittle more. She is loving him. I'll post more later.
